Fusa

The cords attached to jutte (pronged iron arresting truncheons) are known as "fusa". Of the several schools of Jittejutsu still in existance, Masaki-ryu Nakajima-ha is deemed the only school to still teach the techniques of using this cord.

More than merely serving as a lanyard cord (tenukio) often used to bind swords or other weapons to one's hands to prevent
them from dropping in combat, fusa can be used to take down an opponent, and are one of the important arts only transmitted by Masaki-ryu Nakajima-ha.

十手に備え付けられている紐のようなものは正しくは「房」といいます。現存する十手術流派のうち、正木流中島派は唯一その
房の使い方を伝承していると思われます。

十手に備え付けられている房は、刀剣の「手抜緒（てぬきお）」などの戦闘中に武器が手から落ちないためのものとニュアンスが違い、
相手を制すること にも使われます。この「房絡み」は現代では正木流中島派だけが伝える武術文化の一つです。
