Kusarigama

正木流中島派で伝わるもう一つの武術に、鎖鎌術があります。分銅付きの鎖と武用鎌を両方持ち合わせた鎖鎌は鎖で敵との間合いを瞬時に変えられ、磯波のように振込だり、避けたり、絡んだりすることもできれば、鎌で敵の攻撃を制することもできる、優れた武器です。

One of the martial arts transmitted within Masaki-ryu Nakajima-ha is known as Kusarigama-jutsu (the art of the weighted sickle). With both a weighted chain and sickle designed for combative use, the kusarigama is an excellent weapon with a weighted chain able to switch distances rapidly, hail down strikes on an opponent, deflect and entrap, and a sickle that cancels out an opponent's attacks.
